About the Product

Ficus Elastica, more commonly known as the Black Rubber Plant, belongs to the Moraceae family. It has dark green glossy leaves with a leathery look. The plant is also known as “Black Prince” as the leaves appear black when looked at from a distance. The Black Rubber Plant has air purifying and toxin absorbing abilities. The leaves form an awe-inspiring foliage that can amplify the look of your home and office.

With minimal care, the Black Rubber Plant can flourish. It thrives in indirect sunlight. In hot weather, it should be watered once every 7 days while in cold weather conditions, watering should be limited to once every 10-14 days. Repotting should be done during early spring.

The Black Rubber Plant can suffer damage to its leaves and roots due to fungal, bacterial, or viral infections. On a minor level, these infections can be treated by spraying neem oil on the leaves. However, it is advised to use insecticides and fungicides to prevent such infections. Ficus Elastica is toxic to pets when ingested. If you come in contact with the white sap from the leaves, ensure that you wash it off immediately.
